You connect your own Stripe account and the money goes straight into it. We take no cut of your sales, and the name on your buyer's statement is yours. $3.99 a month per site.
Selling one thing from a website usually means renting a store platform built for a business with a warehouse — an order-management engine, a monthly plan to match, and a percentage of every sale on the way out. For a page with three products on it, that is a lot of machinery.
Shop is an app on your own site. Add the block to a page in the editor, connect your Stripe account, publish, and the page can take an order.
The money is yours and it never touches us.
You connect your own Stripe account, and payments go straight into it. Refunds, payouts, disputes and your customers' card details all live on your own Stripe dashboard, in your own name — which is also what your buyer sees on their statement. We take no cut of your sales. What we charge is $3.99 a month for the app, and that is the whole of it.
How it behaves
Every order that goes through appears in your site's Orders page in the portal, where you can read it back rather than digging through email.
Prices are always taken from your published site rather than from whatever the buyer's browser sent, so a price cannot be tampered with on the way through.
Order records are held for seven years, because they are your evidence rather than ours. Sales tax and VAT are yours to handle, as they would be with any shop.
What it costs

Add-ons ride the same schedule as the site — a yearly site's Shop is billed yearly — and appear as their own line on Billing. Remove it from the site's Apps page and the block stops working on the published site; the orders you already have stay in the portal and stay exportable. Stripe charges its own processing fees on your account, on their terms rather than ours.
