Bookings

A diary people can ask for a time in

Someone picks a time on your site instead of emailing to ask what is free. You confirm it or decline it, and they hear back either way. $2.99 a month per site — and it comes with premium designs.

📅 Your Diary
Thursday, 10:30Requested by a visitor — confirm or decline

A page of files can show your hours. It cannot hold a diary, which is why taking appointments from a website normally means a second subscription and a booking widget that looks like somebody else's product dropped into the middle of yours.

Bookings is an app on your own site. Add the block to a page in the editor, publish, and people can ask for a time. What it is not is a supermarket checkout: nothing is booked until you say so.

It is a block you add in the editor, so it needs a site built from one of our designs. There has to be a design behind the page for the diary to sit in. A site you publish as your own folder of files, by zip, the CLI or Git, cannot use it. Worth knowing before you plan around it.

How a booking happens

Three steps, and you decide the middle one

Nothing lands in your day without you agreeing to it first.

  1. A visitor asks for a time

They pick a slot on your page and send it. You get an email about it; they see your own thank-you message on the page.

  2. You confirm or decline

In your site's Diary, in the portal. Every request sits there waiting until you have decided, so nothing is booked by accident.

  3. They hear back either way

A confirmation comes from your business's name, carries a calendar attachment they can add in one tap, and has a link to cancel. A decline goes out too, rather than leaving them wondering.

Worth knowing first

There are no opening hours yet

Nothing stops a visitor asking for 3am on a Sunday. You decline it, and they get the email saying so. That is the honest state of it today — real opening hours are on the list, and this page will say so when they land. If your business genuinely cannot work that way yet, it is better to know now than to find out from a 3am request.

What it costs

$2.99 a month, or nothing on a premium design

Per site, on top of that site's own 99¢ a month. Pick a premium design and it is already in there.

Line on your bill
its own line, on the site's schedule

Add-ons ride the same schedule as the site — a yearly site's Bookings is billed yearly — and appear as their own line on Billing. Remove it from the site's Apps page and the block stops working on the published site; the bookings you already have stay in the portal and stay exportable. Forms is separate, and is never included with any design.

Quick answers

What people ask about Bookings

Is Bookings included with my site?

It is included with premium designs. On any other design it is $2.99 a month, per site, on top of the site's own 99¢ a month.

Is a booking confirmed straight away?

No. It is a request, not a checkout — nothing is booked until you confirm it in your site's Diary. The visitor hears back either way.

Can I set opening hours?

Not yet. Nothing stops a visitor asking for 3am on a Sunday, and you decline it. Real opening hours are on the list.

Does it work on a site I published as a folder of files?

No. Bookings is a block you add in the editor, so it belongs to a site built from one of our designs. A site published as a zip, from the CLI or from Git has no design behind it to put one in.

What happens to my bookings if I turn it off?

The block stops working on the published site. The bookings you already have stay in the portal and stay exportable.
